How to Make Authentic Kashmiri Kahwa (Traditional Method)

Kashmiri Kahwa is a traditional green tea preparation consumed in the Kashmir Valley. It is an exotic mix of Kashmiri green tea leaves, whole spices, nuts, and saffron. What You Need

  • 2 cups of fresh water
  • 1 teaspoon of Kashmir Essence Kahwa Blend
  • 1 teaspoon of raw honey (or sugar/jaggery to taste)
  • Crushed almonds or walnuts for garnishing (optional, as our blend already contains nuts)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Boil the Water

In a saucepan or traditional Samovar, bring 2 cups of fresh water to a rolling boil.

Add the Kahwa Blend

Add 1 teaspoon of the Kashmir Essence Kahwa Blend to the boiling water. This blend already contains green tea, saffron, cardamom, cinnamon, and crushed almonds.

Simmer and Infuse

Reduce the heat to low and let the tea simmer for 3 to 5 minutes. You will see the water turn a beautiful golden-amber color as the saffron releases its pigment.

Sweeten (Optional)

Turn off the heat. Stir in 1 teaspoon of raw honey or your preferred sweetener. Traditional Kahwa is lightly sweetened to balance the spices.
